A young woman identified as 22-year-old Sharon Okafor, was arraigned in court for allegedly stabbing a salesgirl in the face with broken ceramic plates, after a verbal disagreement over payment for drinks and N400 fried meat at a bar in Lekki Phase One, in Eti Osa Local Government Area.

Sharon, according to report, was at the bar accompanied by a man identified as Kingsley and had ordered for drinks and N400 fried meat.

They were served by the victim, Comfort, who later demanded  payment since she was about to close and needed to tidy up the sales book for the day. However, the defendant insisted that her friend, Kingsley would only pay when they were done.

According to the source, Kingsley threw a plate at Comfort when Kingsley tried to take back the drinks.  Some men, numbering about 15, pounced on her and beat her up till she fainted.

Okafor was arraigned on Tuesday, August 16, by the police at Igbosere magistrates’ court.

The prosecuting officer, O. Balogun, told the court that Sharon Okafor “unlawfully assaulted the complainant with a breakable plate and injured her on the face.”
